CUPE 8920 UPDATE TO MEMBERS – RE: COVID-19 MARCH 16, 2020

The Executive Board of CUPE Local 8920 had a conference call this evening, as we have been doing since the pandemic was declared to ensure we are serving you in the most effective way possible.

We will continue to distribute The Nova Scotia Health Authority Covid-19 updates as they become available to us. We continue to work collaboratively with the NSHA to best assist in supporting our members, as you are busy on the frontlines of this. Our new website is being launched in real time this evening. We will share information via the Facebook group CUPE8920 and our website www.8920.cupe.ca.

Our upcoming Annual General Membership Meeting as scheduled to occur on May 2, 2020 at the Oak Island Inn and Conference Center is postponed until further notice. This measure will help protect our members during this time to ensure your own safety and that of your family.

The Executive Board agreed that monthly Site Meetings are also postponed until further notice. This measure will help to protect your own health and ensure your time in the workplace instead of potentially being an added stressor on your time.

We will be sure to communicate with you on a regular basis in various forms. If you have any questions we are available to you and please reach out. As before, I want to thank you for your dedication and commitment to healthcare and keeping Nova Scotians healthy.
