Recognition of Activism Leadership
Eligibility:
The Recognition of Activism Leadership Award is presented to a CUPE 8920 member who has made significant contributions to member involvement within CUPE and our Local.
This award provides an opportunity for members to recognize the work and contributions made by local activists.
This award was created to highlight the leaders and the essential role members play within the labour movement. As a union, we need to advance the full and effective participation of members within our organization.
The award is to honour a member who has made significant contributions to the development and advancement of member participation within our union and local, through demonstrated leadership which has inspired others.
The award was created to spotlight our member leaders and the leadership they present.
The aim is to promote ways to engage members in becoming more actively involved in making positive contributions to our union.
This Award will be is presented at our CUPE 8920 Annual General Meeting.
Call for Nominations:
Nominations are due by April 17 2025 at noon.
Any CUPE member in good standing may be nominated for this award.
Nominations may be submitted by any member or group of members of CUPE 8920.
Nominations should be approximately 250 words and outline the significant contribution the member has made to the movement and local.
Members are encouraged to look around their worksites to identify a member whose union work has inspired others and made a real difference for all members of CUPE.
Assessment and selection will be carried out by the members of the Recognition/Awards Committee. Recipient(s) will be announced, and awards presented at the Annual General Meeting which is normally held in May of each year.
