Bargaining Update, April 15, 2021

Today marked the first bargaining day between the Council of Health Care Unions and the Employers.  The process began with an exchange of proposals.  The Council of Health Care Unions proposals can be found on our website www.8920.cupe.ca

This is the first of eight bargaining dates scheduled between now and May 13, 2021.

Important progress has also been made on essential services planning.  The labour board and both parties agreed to dates, starting on May 14, for essential services negotiations.

Having a concluded essential services plan is required by law before a strike can take place. The ability to hold an effective strike and put pressure on the Employers is a fundamental part of the bargaining process.

The Union will keep you updated on any other progress made on your behalf.
